Boo! Run for Life – Help raise some funds for kidney cancer research

If you are like me and consider running a scary prospect, then the upcoming Boo! Run for Life may be of interest to you. (Get it? Boo! Scary?) It’s a run to raise money to help find a cure for kidney cancer. The run is hosted by the Dean R. O’Neill Renal Cell Cancer Research Fund.

For the crazies, who come out every Halloween, you may want to run the 10K. For others, the two-mile walk around the Tidal Basin may be more your thing. For the rest of us, there will be coffee and donuts. We can applaud our fit friends as they cross the finish line. (Seriously, I said running scares me.)

The race will be held in downtown Washington, D.C. on Oct. 14, and you can find a schedule for the day’s events here. You can register here. If you are thinking of running, contact Dena. She’s putting together a big team. Last year, her team included the fastest group and was the largest of the teams. She’s a competitive girl, so she’ll be looking to win some awards again this year. If you register online, put down “Battlestrong” as the team name.

Oh how I wish we lived closer (instead of the Pacific Coast) and we could join you for coffee and donuts :)

Is there a link to sponsor “Battlestrong” for those of us that cannot participate?
